-- AFS -- Becomes Exclusive Distributor of D-Glucarate
Products AUSTIN, Texas--(BW HealthWire)--Dec. 3, 2001--Applied Food Sciences (AFS) has announced that it has become the exclusive distributor of Calcium D-Glucarate and Potassium D-Glucarate products to the nutritional supplement industry. AFS acquired these rights from BioChemix Inc., the holder of the Glucarate patents. Earlier this fall, BioChemix entered into an agreement with Nutraceutix Inc., a licensee of certain Calcium D-Glucarate patent claims, to discontinue marketing and selling the product. Furthermore, last week BioChemix amicably terminated the Calcium D-Glucarate marketing and distribution activities of its joint venture partner, Glucona, based in Janesville, Wis. Both of these transactions have allowed BioChemix to appoint AFS as the exclusive distributor of patented D-Glucarate products. AFS will continue supplying high quality D-Glucarate products, such as patented Calcium D-Glucarate and Preventium® Potassium D-Glucarate, to customers, and Lyndon C.
